Car Breakdown!

Today I have a seminar at Amara Hotel. Vincent and Edlynne came and picked me. We have dinner in Chinatown.

As usual, Edlynne was sucking her toes and we have overheard people whispering - "look at that baby", "sucking her toes", "so cute", "I thought babies only suck their fingers, howcome this one suck her toes?". Wow, so embrassing.

After dinner, daddy tried to start the car. Failed. Try again, failed. FAILED! OH NO!!

Suddenly out of nowhere, there was this guy, wearing a tiger beer polo-tees and taking some tiger beer (I think he is a tiger beer sales). He asked if we needed help and he could jump-start our car. Vincent said yes (thank God!). Mr Tiger Beer went to get his car after leaving his stuffs next to our car. Seems like his car was quite a distance away. He connected the cables and VOILA! Our engine STARTED!

Thank you Mr Tiger Beer! You let us know that there are actually nice people in Singapore!

Cousin Jien Hui's Wedding (Part 2 - Dinner)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Dinner was at Mandarin Hotel that nite, 64 tables! We bought a sweater for Edlynne after mother mentioned that it was terribly cold that nite when they went for the food tasting.

Everyone took turns to carry Edlynne, but when the dinner started, Vincent carried her thru out. He was afraid that the Yum Sengs will scare her.

Edlynne was okay that nite although she do fussed now and then, especially when she was looking instantly at the teddy bear key/hp gift chains, which I think she must be dying to sink her gums into. She've got 7 chains from all the aunties and uncles.

The food was alright and the service was good. However, Vincent was not full (as usual). Little Edlynne however, took her milk and then dozzed off...

Cousin Jien Hui's Wedding (Part 1 - Tea Ceremony)

Its cousin Jien Hui's wedding yesterday (Sun, 27Nov). Yes, he is Edlynne's cousin and our nephew. Edlynne will soon be auntie if cousin Jien Hui got a baby after the wedding.

We dressed her up nicely for the tea ceremony, as we have only been told to go for the buffet, I just dressed casually. Anyway people will only look at Edlynne and not us, just makan only, no need to dress up. I was wrong! We were told (when arrived) that they needed to serve us tea! I didn't even prepare any Ang Baos!! Luckily mother & father already prepared for us.

Before I forget, we passed sweetbabe the Friso sample before we reached Jien Hui's. Sweetbabe was really nice to give Edlynne some wet tissues. Thanks auntie May!

The Return of Auntie Eva (Again)!

Got a message from Gloria that Eva was back from Holland again! Vincent and I was thinking, wow Eva must be either rich or she's pregnant and come back to "An Tai". Dinner was 7:30 pm at The Outbacks. But we cannot tahan and have it at Bedok N. after a visit to Baby Hyperstore.

Little Edlynne was in a good mood, while Eva was talking about her encounters and how she escaped from HK to S'pore, Little Edlynne was checking out on Sadat. She was trying to get lucky and hopping that Uncle Sadat would give her a bit of his meal.

P/S: No picture this time, daddy forgotten the camera...

Edlynne's 7th Month & Finally she crawls!

Its Edlynne 7th month today! Vincent have again mentioned that I should wean her off since I've been breast feeding for 7 months now.

After dinner we placed Edlynne on the playmat while Vincent was working on the computer and I was washing her bottles. Vincent quickly called me to look at Edlynne. She was crawling! Wow!

This was another pleasant surprise. One other surprise was that she can pronouced "Pa Pa". She did it in a sad and angry way which Vincent have denied that she was calling him. But still its nice to hear her calling "Pa Pa".

I can still remember Edlynne as the small baby, she was so small when bornt, with her whole head so fragile and helpless on my palm. Now she can crawl! Soon she can walk, then she will leave us...

With this thought, I planted more kisses on her.

These fotos were taken during our last trip to KL and collected by Kenny on behalf. Edlynne was 5 months then.

Daddy bought 10 packets of Anakku wet tissues, which costed (way) more than 30RM, so we've got a free foto. The queue was long and while waiting, Edlynne poo poo and we have to change her in a bench nearby.

KL Trip - Kenny & Family

Kenny & Audrey have always been kind enough to bring us around when we visited KL. This time too. Its also good to let the babies have a get-together.

Kenny mentioned that he have got a new car after his promotion and we kept guessing on the brand. I thought it would be a BMW as Kenny keep mentioning how nice a BMW look. I was wrong, its another Benz for the family. And a very nice one too!

Little En En was bigger than our last meeting (Little Edlynne still the same small little kitten). Bothe the babies get together and started playing with the cup holder. They jumped and shouted. I think they must be having their own conversation.

Lunch was Bak Kut Teh, then followed by a visit to Kenny's place, viewed a show house, TESCO at Ikano, then dinner in the hills, mid-way to Genting. It was dark and foggy during our journey back from Genting and Kenny even got a bit lost.

We truely enjoyed our time with Kenny, Audrey & En En, and we were also pai sey that Edlynne soaked wet En En's bloister and toys which Kenny have kindly offered to her, with her saliva.

Kenny & family, we hoped to see you again in Singapore for X'mas!

KL Trip Again

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Daddy have to make another trip to KL again for his we based biz. We chop chop booked the hotel just 2 days before going. This time was another 4 days, 17-20 Nov. The bags were a bit dampl after washing from the Bali trip.

This time Vincent have to spend most of his time in meetings and trainings, so we have decided to get a hotel outside of KL's Golden Triangle (after the major traffic jam we've got on our last trip), and yet this hotel should be near the basic ammenities. So we have decided on Boulevard Hotel. Its ajoining the Mid Valley Megamall where I can go shopping and eat. Its also better looking than the Cititel next door.

We couldn't get the kig-sized bed that we have requested as the hotel was fully booked due to the car racing rally. However, the hotel promised that they would changed if there was avalible room, which they did on the second day. The duty manager pulled me aside when he was helping us with the move, and asked me seriously why we wanted the change. When I told him that it was becos Edlynne keeps going to fall off in the single bed and she also keeps knocking on the side of the baby cot when she turns and then cried, he breathed a sign of relieved. I guessed he must have thought that there was something very wrong with that room.

The hotel room was clean and everything in tip-top condition. The traffic was smooth and easily accessible, although the parking was a bit difficult. I would greatly recommend this to anyone going to KL.

My Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday (11 Nov). Thanks Ruimei, Jac., mum & sister, the mummies from Singapore Motherhood and you know who you are, for sending birthday wishes to me.

Took half day, went home to sleep, then shopping and dinner. Vincent allowed me to get a new bag! Yah! People have been asking if I used his money, thus needed to ask for permission, answer is "NO". I pay myself one loh! Just that I wanted to respect him and also to stop his nagging. Anyway, I've got a new burberry bag (again)! Its big enough to put Edlynne's stuffs and Vincent's camera in it. Dinner was at the new Crystal Jade noodle shop as Vincent do not feel like taking anything heavy.

After dinner we met up with Vincent's frens at Foster. Managed to get a parking lot in Holland V. What good luck! Have passed them the gifts from Bali. I think the necklace looks nice on Joan. Gloria was carrying Edlynne while Joan was trying to take her fotos, but Edlynne was looking at the artiste as he was singing "Take a look at me now...". So funny!

Edlynne again took some milk and off to dreamland...

P/S: Still awaiting fotos from Maram.

Bali - Day 7 (last day)

It was our last day in Bali. Vincent decided to go ahead for the spa while I look after Edlynne and packed the stuffs.

Lunch at the airport resturant.

Vincent took a Javanese Lulur spa package from one of the spa opposite of the hotel. It was cheap at a price of S$15 for a 1hr 45min treatment. The Javanese Lulur is a 17th century Javanese royal treatment, it consists of a one-hour massage, followed by scrub with lulur (turmeric, sandal wood and rice powder) to remove dead skin, then an exfoliation with yoghurt to elimate toxin, and ends with soaking in aromatic flowers bath while slipping ginger tea. He looks refreshing after the spa (Envy!).

The hotel staffs help us with the luagges when they passed by and saw that we could not handle both the bags and also with Edlynne. One of them took the bags while the other carried Edlynne. They then gathered over her to say goodbye, they looks so sad. I guessed they must have feelings for her since she have been spending the mornings with them for the whole week.

We went to the airport on time and found that the flight was delayed, in addition we secured a bassinet for her. Edlynne was also strangly well behaved on flight although at one point she tried to pull the shirt of a gentlemen seating besides Vincent. She didn't fuss while take off and ending, but she ended the journey with a major poo and sended us to look for a changing room for her.

Bali - Day 6

Day 6 itinerary: Shopping at Nusa Dua, Kuta and around Ubud area for gifts. Kecak & Fire Dance performance in Ubud at night.

Edlynne waking up to a lazy morning. Daddy still sleeping...

Beach and sand at Kuta beach where we have our lunch - meat ball soups & roast pig rice. Yummy! Posted by Picasa

Dinner while waiting for the Kecak & Fire Dance.

Just a note: Kecak Dance is a ritual dance created in the early 1930's for the movie "Island of the Demons" by the German painter and intellectural Walter Spies. It have a impressive circular chorus of bare chested male singers (I think about 50 of them), chanting over a heap of fire.

The dance was in a temple. It was dark and starting to rain. I quickly covered the sleeping Edlynne and went into a shelter to watch. Didn't saw much. It was a bit boring with the chants and at some parts I nearly fell asleep too...

Bali - Day 5

Day 5 itinerary: Barong & Kris Dance performance at Batubulan, Sanur, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa, Denpasar and Tanah Lot.

Little Edlynne on the hotel bed.

Sea sport at Tanjung Benoa beach.

Pura Luhur Ulu Watu - Perched majestically on the edge of a steep cliff high above the famous surf breaks of southern Bali. Ulu Watu is the guardian of the southwest - dedicated to the spirit of the sea. It is populated by monkeys (Iks!).

Tanah Lot - The famous scenic temple of thousands of postcards and set on a tiny rocky isle, Pura Tanah Lot is known as the best place for watching the Bali sunset. The temple, built on a small islet, is accessible only at low tide. The legends tell of giant serpents that guard this famous temple. Posted by Picasa

Before I forgot, we have a KFC lunch today near Nusa Dua. They served rice with sambal at KFC! The sambal was hot and spicy - NICE! How come they don't have this in Singapore?!

Vincent drank one full coconut plus the other half that I can't finish, while we were watching the sunset at Tanah Lot. He have to speed to rush back to the hotel to use the washroom, but he couldn't made it and have to stop and used the gents in the gas station.

Bali - Day 4

Day 4 itinerary: Taman Ayun (Mengwi), Jetiluwih, Candi Kuning, Ulun Danu at Lake Beratan, Gitgit Waterfalls, Singaraja and Lovina Beach.

Taman Ayun Temple - Former Royal Temple of Mengwi Kingdom, built on the 18th century.

Jetiluwih - Lush rice terraces follow the contours of the hillsides as far as the eye can see, carrying intricate patterns of green through the shimmering water, broken only by the abundant tropical fruit trees and palms.

Ulun Danu - Floating temple on Lake Beratan, dedicated to the god of fertility.

Git Git - Breathtaking waterfall. Posted by Picasa

We have dinner at Denpasar after our fail attempted to watch sunset at Tanah Lot (it was 6:15 pm when we reached and it was dark already). The noodle was surprizing similar to those from Kuching, Sarawak.

Bali - Day 3

Day 3 itinerary: Kertagosa (Klungkung), Besakih Temple, Tenganan village (An ancient village, home to "Bali Aga", original and unspoilt Balinese whom still preserve the traditional practices), Tirta Gangga, Amlapura, Ujung Water Palace and Candidasa.

Klungkung - Capital of the Klungkung District, this town is known for the famous "Kerta Gosa" court house, with its ceilings depicting the carriage of justice in the form of extremely fragile wayang paintings.

Besakih Temple - The biggest temple in Indonesia, the Mother Temple is situated a thousand meters above sea level on the slope of the sacred and still active volcano, Mt. Agung (3140m). Besakih is considered the principal state temple, venerating the Hindu Bali trinity: Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. It consists of 18 towering grass-thatches pagodas spread along the roadside on the steep mountain slopes.

Tirta Gangga - The old bathing place of the former Rajah of Karangarem, famous for the ingenious networks of swimming pools.

Sun set at Candidasa. Posted by Picasa

After dinner at Candidasa, we tried to nativigate our way back to Ubud. It was very dark and we got lost. We tried to use a short cut back to the main road of Ubud and on the way, we saw a man taking off his pants. He immediately wore them back as our car passed by! Vincent commented that he was about to take his bath in the drain...
